That's almost laughable. I am one of the electorate, never missed an election local or national but I most definitely do not feel empowered. Regardless of election outcomes the old saying 'same $h!t different day' is very apt. Will it be different if Scotland vote yes, i can only hope.

I'm afraid the socialism comment went straight over my head, sorry.

Others vote differently to you. It happens. The majority wins. It's fair.

Whether the majority 'win' - that's less about tonight and more about the next 18 months or so and beyond. Regardless of the result.

Do you think the majority of people in this country voted for and support this Tory government and its policies. Or, to be even handed, the last Labour Government. The power is with the politicans and those who back them, it most certainly is not with the electorate. Many of them are waking up to this fact and are simply not voting. If things do not change it will only be a matter of time before the majority do not vote at all. Not unlike that other 'great democracy' on the other side of the Atlantic where the last time more than 60% of electorate voted in an presidential election was in 1968!

Think of all the money the reflective jacket makers will make, all those new yellow jackets with porridge speak words on the back. And all those translation book makers who will have to print 7 million books so the Scots can work out who the hell the yellow jacket clad people are?

Plenty of scots are proud of the union flag but no less proud of the saltire than the yes folk.

Sure of course it is all a big conspiracy. I quite like the Tories although they should be more conservative imo. But hey fair enough it is a coalition. I just don't get the point you are attempting to make.

And will more than 0.0000000000000000000005% of the population actually understand it, yet everything will be printed in it as well as English.

Next question, will you be asking us if you can use English? Or will you be demanding Language Union?

To be fair, less than 50% of those eligible to vote actually did so in the last Scots Elections. The SNP were voted in with far less than 25% of the electorate, so the Scots aren't in a position to moan about minority Governments in Westminster.

For the sake of balance, the SNP have a huge mandate compared to the PCC's in England & Wales, most of who had less than 15% of the electorates votes.

Absolutely disagree. Every four years being given the "choice" to vote for a punch in the face or a kick in the face is not democracy. The party out of office is always going to undo the horrific damage the current government is doing - they get in, and continue right where the other shower left off. Where is Cameron's bonfire of red tape, and the great repeal? Cutting back the 4,000 new statutes per year? Absolutely nowhere, in fact he's doubled down on that and it's worse than everything he accused Labour of. We have parties going to court to fight that electoral manifestos are not binding on them. We have MPs fighting to continue their right to lie in the commons. And we call it a democracy? It's a democracy if we choose to believe it's one, but failing to understand WHY it is rotten, is failing to understand why many in Scotland want to leave. It is NOTHING to do with England, or English , at least for me. I love England, and have nothing but good experiences wherever I have travelled - customers in Manchester, down in Cornwall, London, York, Newcastle - travels used to take me all over, and it's a place I love. But I believe England is as badly served by our political system as Scotland is - it's just that Scotland has a chance to get out from under that political system. That's what today is about. Maybe we make it, maybe we don't - but I hate seeing it categorised as wanting to leave the UK, or to leave England - it's not. It's solely Westminster rule, and Westminster's support of THE square mile above every other square mile in our currently united kingdom.

Exactly. Every election you are offered Blue rosette, Yellow rosette, Red rosette - experience shows it makes not a damn bit of difference which one gets in. Whichever one gets in shears the landless peasants, and the other two complain to the media about how awful it is, and how they'll put it right in four years time, just you wait and see..... Rinse and repeat.

For any aspect of life you can accept it, you can change it, you can leave. It looks like Scotland may not be willing to accept it any more. It further looks like Scotland doesn't believe change is possible for this "democratic" system. So Scotland may leave. To me that is the only reasonable approach. I can equally argue that we as electorate are at fault, because we haven't created any viable alternative - and that's a reasonable argument. But that's looking anyway vanishingly unlikely - so for me leaving that system and starting again, starting smaller and hopefully controllable is the much better option. We shall see (or not, depending how tonight goes).

Yes, but you wont have access to the Dictionary of Last Resort, The Oxford English. Without that you'll just be using with no protection, where would you go to get proper spellings and meanings? Has the SNP made it clear? I notice Salmond avoided the subject!

Anyway, the EU will insist you use French if you want to be in their gang.
