Old fighter (The Harrier)

Digitally composed as the plane was on the ground at the Maritime Museum in Greenwich. The Harrier Jump Jet is the worlds only vertical take off and landing jet fighter. It was developed by the British in an era of financial cutbacks which saw the end of the large Royal Navy Aircraft Carriers. It can use airfields on land or fly from smaller aircraft carriers at sea and is flown by the best US and British pilots. It combines the best aspects of a helicopter with those of a fighter jet. For example, the world speed record for a helicopter is 249 mph (Linx helicopter) whilst the Harrier can fly at 730 mph. Your Comments are welcome.

Brilliant processing - I love the vapour trail...

The one thing that really doesn't sit at all well is the grass reflection on the underside and the fact that you can clearly see a pathway in the reflection. Great idea though... :)

Wowww nice bit of PPing there (y)

BTW, did you know that a helicopter cant go any faster than about 250 mph anyway. Once you approach that speed the lagging blades of the rotor arnt going fast enough to maintain lift, the heli becomes unstable and sort of falls, out of the sky

Not to mention the problems of advancing blades reaching supersonic speeds at which point the properties of air become reversed.

Nice PP though, perhaps you could change the green hue to a blue one and pretend it's the skys' reflection.

Great shot, shame about the reflection, if you could do as said above and change it to blue hue it would almost definitely carry the shot of, although it could be flying at very very low level and get green reflections anyway :)

Actually what happens is the helicopter starts to turn uncontrollably to the side of the retreating blade and decides to give the ground a big hug !

Fastest Helicopter in the world is the Lynx at 400.87 km/h (249.09 mph)

Helicopters dont fly, they beat the air into submission ! ;)
