I was doing a shoot the other day, just wanted to practice some lighting stuff and a friend modelled for me. Now, when I'm not so bad, not so doped up etc, coming up with ideas for poses, (particuarly torso and head) aren't an issue. When I'm having a rough patch, or particuarly doped up on meds....it's a different story., I can remember 2 or 3 classic poses, but after that, I'm at a loss.

So, any suggestions forovercoming this, any handbook etc, I particuarly like doing head and torso shots, sorta romantic/gamourous style?

Could you print off some examples of the poses you are inspired by and keep them handy?

Yeah - pm me your email address I'll and send you a posing pdf.

Phil

Actually easier for you to download from here

Thanks Phil. I've seen that one a few times, some of those poses look alot like a gymnastics poster in the gym at school  but there's some cracking poses, thanks.

Paul, that's what I want to do ultimately. I think I'll put some stuff in a little folder or scrapbook.

I seldom take pictures of people, even though i would love to, because I just don't one how to pose them :(. I looked at that PDF. The couples poses are great, but the individual poses are a bit naff aren't they? Do you really pose people like that Phil and have you had success doing so?

To be truthful I've never used it and not looked especially closely at it since I found it, but I thought it might provide some inspiration.
