Any knife/weapons collectors on here?

I've always fancied a Gryptilian though I'd prefer the silver coloured blade.

I found out today that the Enzo PK70 is made in Taiwan, even though I know it's a beautiful knife and really well made I still feel a bit cheated somehow :(

In other news, I've not bought anything for a while but I decided to finally fit scales to my wee Enzo Necker. I made the micarta myself, easy enough to do but lord it's hard to work with, it clogs up the sander belts in no time and they become useless. Add to that the very bad for you fine dust that comes off it so I had to wear the face mask. Made the pins myself too and filled them with epoxy mixed with glow in the dark powder.

This is half done, need to clean it up and polish it yet but it's looking ok and it's very comfortable to hold. Still making daft mistakes with the sanding, like clipping the edge of the blade just in front of the scales...

I didn't know the pk70 was made in Taiwan! Still a stunning knife. Yep the mini grip is a locker but I work in construction so have good reason to carry one. I also prefer the satin blade but when there's £50 price difference I wasn't to fussed! Got this mint second hand black blade version for £40 plus postage

Bleedin screws came out of my Cima clip tonight, luckily found them in my knife pocket!

Not at all impressed with my Cima quality, especially not against the cheapo's I've bought.

Anyone know whats going on with british blades forum its been down for days now?

No m8, google says it's not the first time it's happened but it seems to be going on for a long time.

TBH, I've never heard of this site. SA (South African) Blade closed last year because the active membership and support simply fell below critical mass. A lot of the content showcased local knife makers - some of them are superb - and knife making skills, but I suspect there simply wasn't enough interest to keep it going. What does the UK site specialise in?

Blades and knives, commercial and knife making Martyn. Quite a few makers post (and sell) there including a couple from SA, the guy who owns? Spyderco posts and recently helped set up the group buy of a forum knife. Very strictly moderated, no mention of knives as weapons allowed which I think has probably kept it a friendly place for longer. Also the usual mix of outdoors forums, camping/hunting. www.britishblades.com in case it ever gets up and running again.

Saw a post from Nice65 saying he hopes they'll be back up and running for the weekend.

Thanks Hugh. I'll keep an eye open for it reopening.

SA laws are different and there's no restriction on lock knives or, for all practical purposes, blade length for EDC. The SA site/forum did discuss knives as weapons, and SA Gunsite still does, within its knife forum.

So I got bored waiting for BB to come back and treated myself :D

1st a real cheapy no name camping knife for all of £2.89 note the Altoids tin for scale, this will become important further down.
Tools are two blades, tin & bottle openers, screwdrivers, scissors, hooky thing, horses hoof thing, spiral thing, compass, torch, removable file and miniature philips which fits the torch cover screws. The only issue with this is I need pliers to open any of the tools, they're fingernail rippers.

2nd, another very nice Enlan, I do like Enlans :) tiger stripe finish on the blade, spyderco stylee opening and fake carbon fibre scales. £5.22
Same Altoids tin

Trying to show the blade finish isn't a lighting effect.

Last but far from least..... A Harnds Blazer, mahoosive knife, 14cm closed, almost 25cm open! Red G10 scales liner lock with a bit of a feature, the lock has a lock. In the bottom picture the knurled knob pushes forwards and prevents the liner lock from releasing. £15.00

Like the Enlan and the Harnds (although on the big side for me).

The Harnds feels and looks well made, the action is really good too. Still love the Enlan though :)

P.S. BB is back!

So who's all on BB and Bcuk then?

My forum name on those site is Barn Owl, although I haven't posted on them for a while.

I'm Steep on both but never posted on BCUK, just lurked..

Lol yep for the price it's a great knife. I have the original lansky but it's much heavier and has a quirky blade shape. The madrock is much better imo and also has real deep pocket clip.

...and if I dont find a 24-120mm f4 soon I'm off shopping on HH

I have one and it's [montypython&theholygrail]ver' nahce![/mp&thg]

Happy retail therapy!

I just spent 3 days camping with the phone and my Pentax MX1, took a few shots with the MX-1 but 99% I used the phone. The 360 degree app is brilliant for holiday snaps and the phone kicks ass with it's video quality.

What I'm saying is, buy the knife! :D

What are A3+ prints from the phone like? ;) :p

Hold on I'll just run one off and get back to you :)

Something a bit different, a Robin Wood carving axe, 34cm long, weighs only 741grams and is very sharp.

Went to The Knife Guys shop in Amarillo, lots of stuff but Spyderco and Boker pretty dear!

Anyway, now in Colorado and picked up a Spyderco for $37.77 + tax!

Turns out Spyderco have a place in Golden, Colorado?

Photaes when I get home.
