I am new to this site so I do apologise if there is a sub section for this kind of post. I was just wondering wether or there are any on here. I have gotten into within the past few months and absolutely LOVE urban exploring. Apart from the incredible photo opportunities, the sense of abondenment and seeing things that have been left dormant for many years is addictive and most times beautiful.

Yeah ive done a lot in the past, not done to much over the last 6 months thou for a few reasons the photo opertunities are amazing, it was one of the things that made me buy a decent camera years ago lol!!

There's quite a few 28DL/TU/UEF members about on here, unsurpising really as pop-urbex has become a mainstream photography genre.

I've done a bit, it is quite addictive. Got a friend who's really into it who I tag along with sometimes.

What's 'pop-urbex'?

Just made it up, trying to describe the side-effect of it's growth as a label for a genre of photography.. popular urbex.. urbex as a fashion accessory, doing the milkround of the same old sites, etc. There's probably a better term for it.

Another one here.

Although if I'm honest i've not been nearly as much since it really caught on and the press caught wind of an easy story with faceless victims to accuse of being criminals.

I am planning to a trip to Taunton for a few sites there soon. I too hate how the press label urban explorers as criminals, vandals, tresspassers (probably true though) etc etc. Just something to bulk out their other nonsense.
