Well who's a dozy plank then? Oh! that would be me.

Hi There,

I hope you don’t mind me emailing you direct; however I’ve just launched a new UK themed Stock Photography site www.local-stock.co.uk. and in viewing your work on Flickr I thought it may be of interest to you.

Local Stock is a UK themed stock photography site aimed at promoting photographers and as such we do not take any commission from photo sales. In order to cover the cost of hosting, promoting the site to buyers, we do take a very small membership of £30.00+vat per annum or £150 + vat for life.

Introductory Offer

As the site has literally just been launched and we are currently in the process of building up the photo content, we are offering the first 1000 photographer sign-ups a one-off lifetime membership of £30.00 + vat for life.

There is absolutely no obligation to sign-up but if you are interested please take a look at our site to see what we do.

Thanks for your time.

Kind Regards

Must remember not to try difficult things after beer...

Just ignore it..

If they get nothing out of it, they have no incentive to push (or protect) your photographic IP,

As the site has literally just been launched and we are currently in the process of building up the photo content, we are offering the first 1000 photographer sign-ups a one-off lifetime membership of £30.00 + vat for life.
So they keep on collecting £36/client 'til the complaints outweigh the new signups, then they disappear?

Any "agency", be it acting, modeling, employment, or photographic, that wants payment up front from you, is a con.

Delete it.

Well, there are 26 photographers already listed, so if they all paid £30, he's on his way to a nice new camera already.

I dont think its scam as such just someone trying to make a bit of money, but not very well thought through. The payment system is just a paypal cart, so essentially people are buying direct from you, not from the site, as the small print mentions the paypal fee's you'll have to pay for each sale.

I think I'd rather stick with the world famous Alamy for free and not get any sales then spend £30 a year with a no name site and not get any sales.

I know one of the images on there, it's somebody I know from another forum, I'm waiting a reply from him.

I suspected as much. If it sounds too good to be true then its too good to be true, I shall ignore it I think.
