Hi,

Not much of a photoshop expert so this might be irrelevant, but give this a go.

Go to Window - Clone source, this will bring up the little clone source panel, and make sure that the little box next to the word "clipped" has a tick in it.

Good luck,

Julie

WOW thanks Julie how silly to have that there. I do not see why you not want it clipped, and why it is not the default. Thanks
Just need to sort out the RAM issue

Glad that it worked for you, hope you get your RAM sorted!

Do you know how much RAM it is using, and are you using the 64-bit version? As if memory serves, there's a limit to how much RAM a single program can use if it's 32-bit, 2GB comes to mind...

If any of that help?

A little... Your not using the 64-bit version, as you can't with your current operating system, I would advise closing down as many background applications as possible, to free up as much RAM as possible for PS to use. Does the "not enough RAM" error always occur when trying to perform the same function, or are there times you can use a function fine, but other times it gives the error?

A possible fix for a whole load of problems is a re-install of the program, have you tried this? Could be worth a shot, see if it fixes anything.

it is most happening with a content aware fill and only just put it on. what i not understand is the scratch disk is meant to assist the ram is it not?
