Are these flash reflectors any good? I'm taking some photos in a church with a high ceiling this weekend for a friends christening, are these items recommended or should I just use a white business card and an elastic band?

I used to use a Big Bounce with film and a hammerhead flash (it's too big for a camera-mounted flash). With high ISO you can get away with the smaller bounce card.

Got one, tried it, got bored and it is now in my camera cupboard for when I get the time to give it another go!

Regards

Chris

I use the Lumiquest Quik Bounce, which is very versatile - does fill, bounce-fill, vertical or horizontal. I like it a lot

If you haven't got a ceiling to bounce off, it helps quite a bit by making the light source bigger for close up shots of individuals and couples. But if you have to move right back for a group, the relative size shrinks and it doesn't do much TBH.

Got a couple of them been using since they first came out late 80s early 90s I think ?
They can be be useful both indoors and outdoors.

Pocket bounce works well for portraits. I got the kit which includes silver and gold inserts (useful for specular highlights and warming skin tones in outdoor shots respectively).
I use mine WITH a stofen as I find it fills more evenly.
