Can someone please help me out here! I am losing the will to live!!!

I have been given a little project to show depth of field. I have the settings given to me and to start, just have to replicate them. It involves shooting a ruler to show this. Settings given are: Aperture priority, 1.6 Seconds, F/29, ISO 200. I can't find F/29 - what am I doing wrong or is it the camera? (this project was set by someone using a nikon DSLR) Oh......and I am using a tripod.

thanks,

Pip:(

I`m not really that familiar with the Fuji Finepix, does it allow manual adjustment of apertures? If it does allow it, I think it`s highly unlikely that it will go beyond F22, maybe even F16. I know this probably isn`t a huge amount of help but someone will be along in a minute or two, i`m sure. :)

Most bridge cameras like the finepix series don't have an aperture that narrow. My smallest is f8, and it looks like your is f11 from a glance at the specs. You'll have to settle for f11 and adjust the exposure accordingly.

Am prity sure my Fuji S9600 only went up to f11

thanks all,

yes mine only goes up to F11, will have to adjust the exposure..... thanks again,

Pip:)

Also, in aperture priority you can only set the aperture, not the shutter speed. In order to match ISO 200 and 1.6 seconds you're going to have to vary the lighting and probably force the ISO.

Neither the ISO or the shutter speed really matter though, it's only aperture that changes depth of field (though ISO may have some affect on your ability to measure the change.)
