What is Canon Professional Services (CPS)?

CPS is the currently free service designed to provide Canon professional users with information and support. Canon Professional Network (CPN) is the website and communication system for Canon professionals in Europe.

By joining the CPS membership programme you become part of an exclusive network of professional photographers, all working with Canon equipment and across many different disciplines – from sport to fashion, and from wildlife to weddings.

Once you get your CPS membership card and number, this will identify you and your registered equipment to your local Canon Professional Representative.

They will keep you informed of local events and seminars and can offer help and guidance should you require it.

At major events - such as the Olympic Games, Formula 1 Grand Prix, Fashion Weeks, and UEFA EURO 2008 to name but a few - where the Canon CPS Support Team is in place, all you have to do is show your card and your registered details will be on our system ready for us to give you the professional support that you deserve.

CPS is designed for professional users and as such there are some entry qualifications.
The current stipulation is that members should own at least two professional Canon AF bodies and three Canon L-series lenses.

So, if you can meet these criteria of membership and want to become part of the network of Canon Professionals just follow the link below and complete the forms presented to you.

We look forward to welcoming you to the CPS network.

There are general membership guidelines and each Canon Sales Company reserves the absolute and final right to accept or disqualify CPS members.
 
So I've got the lenses, one body, just need to pick up a cheap, broken 10/20d...:D
 
I can't read CPS without reading Crown Prosecution Service.

Is there actually a list of lenses and bodies anywhere that you can actually apply to this with?

The criteria is 2 pro bodies (AFAIK xD and xxD are accepted) and 3 x L lenses
 
If you go through the forms to the point where it asks you to list your equipment you get to the drop down menus with all the gear. I'm also in the need another body camp...

Cheers. I've seen that, but I read in an earlier post (I think) that the 50mm 1.8 was there too, which I thought was odd as it's their cheapest lens. Looks like andrewc has just confirmed that too. Suppose I might register but can't see that there's a lot of benefit from it, particularly if they make it a paid service.

I don't think the 50mm 1.8 was ever on the list, but the 50mm 1.4 is - unless they've removed it since they brought out the 50mm 1.2L?
 
All 3 50mms are on there, I can't remember if the 50mm Macro is too though
 
I think you will find that the list just asks you to identify the equipment you have!

The criteria for membership is 2x pro bodies from the xxD xD ranges and 3x L lenses.

If you ain't got that you ain't likely to get accepted!
 
I tried
filled in the form
I have enough Lenses
but only the one 5D body
they "are keeping my details" until I "meet the body requirement"
 
Just received an e-mail from CPS:

I am pleased to tell you that we have now processed your Canon Professional Services membership.

Your CPS membership number is: GBXXXXXXXX. Your membership card will be sent shortly, but please allow up to six weeks for delivery

Got the actual card this morning :) sexy little black number.. looks like a secret agent card or summat :)

Hopefully mine will be sitting on my door mat when I get home :)
 
how do they know what equipment you have? do they ring you up or anything, thinking of joining on the sly for the free mag! :P
