While protecting their eggs/chicks, these birds attack anything that comes near the nest.
They dive bomb you spraying guana at you, if that doesn't deter you they attack your head.
One of these managed to draw blood from my head and thats with wearig a hat.

I remember my last visit to Farne ! was many many years ago, but they dont seem to have got any less violent !

Wow - that's a stunner. Despite being almost on the doorstep I've never been to the Farnes for years. Must have a trip up.
