Are These Recoverable?

Yes
Pretty sure they're not, but thought I would ask the knowledgeable folk on here before giving up.

They should all be ~15mb RAW files, but the card became corrupt in the camera, and now they are all 0byte folders of nothingness.

I've tried one bit of file recovery software, but had no joy. Are there any others I should have a try with?

Thanks all. :)

Have you tried recuva? It has worked for me in the past.

I'm not an expert but stuff like this is usually recoverable, it's likely the index that is corrupt more than your files, have you tried copying one to your pc but renaming it as a CR2 or whatever they were? (don't alter anything on the card itself!!)

I had to recover some important photos that I had accidentally deleted from a memory card a few weeks ago. I tried a few programs but eventually used something called - PC Tools file recover. It worked fine.

I would recommend that you don't use or format the corrupted card until you have recovered the images.

The folder of data that you have on the PC might not be too useful, if would be better to try to recover the data direct from the memory card as this has more chance of success.

You could also try Photorec or Bad copy Pro.

Sorted, I think. Thanks folks. :)

The problem (I think) was that I was using recovery software designed to search for image files, RAW, jpg, etc, so it found nothing. 130 files recovered so far! Woo!

I have had problems with word document files in the past and was unable to fix, had to do my coursework over again when i was at college....now that was a pain.

Sickener. :(

I had to try about five different recovery programs before I found one that worked correctly. Two couldn't find anything, one somehow recovered some weird files that are nothing to do with photos, one recovered all the shots as TIFs which weren't readable in any program. Finally one of them recovered the RAWs. And about two of them were keepers. :D I was experimenting with off-camera flash whilst incredibly drunk at the weekend. :bonk:

Glad you were successful. Which program worked best then ?

BadCopy Pro was the one that worked. Not a free program, but you can see if it's worked before you have to fork out anything, as it gives you a list of files. Same with the others, actually.
