Are you competitive?

No
I gave a friend of mine some HDR software that i paid a lot of money for and now i'm regretting it! He's posting pictures on flickr using it and his new fisheye lens. Which i recommended! :naughty:

Are you competitive among your peers? Do you compare techniques and photographs? Or do you take the view that nobody else will see exactly what you see through the barrel of the lens?

How many of you can hold your hand up and say you're not even slightly competitive?

I'm not competitive at all. I'm probably the least competitive person on this forum. I'd put money on it. I dare anyone to come on here and claim to be less competitive than me. I DARE YOU! oh no wait a sec...

Of course I'm competitive - thankfully I'm better at photography than all my friends, so I'm ok! ;)

Oh, OK - actually there's lots of them are better photographers, but the ones that really annoy me are the ones who take a random snapshot with a point and shoot, and it just looks stunning...

So, OK - more seriously, yes - deathly competitive, but then I find that some of the fun - I like to better myself, so I look up to the people far better than me to learn, and try and be better than the ones of similar level! :D

Not me.

it's not even like I really care about anyone else's shots compared to mine but I love that spur to improve and do better.

I am not competitive at all; and thats because I have nothing to be competitive about - I take bad photographs...

yeah, I'm much more competitive than you ! ya spanglefish!

I'm not competitive but I do measure myself against what others do and I take their kit into account lol

I'm extremely competitive with myself - what I did in my last shoot just isn't good enough for my next shoot!

only once..in the photographic club sense
i still post on a competition forum...but dont win a lot...

I'm more of the teamwork kinda guy. I try to discuss with fellow togs about how to get what effect and what not. But I would not lend a copy of a program I paid money for to a friend. That's almost the same as giving money away for free.

No i don't think i am unless it's with myself most of my friends started photography after me so i have helped them a great deal over the years i lend them my lenses when in the field and enjoy looking at other peoples work.

we help and share lots (I mean the 430 on my desk right now isn't mine :D) but there's a bit of banter that helps keep us all on our toes (like the amount of **** I'm getting for not having uploaded a load of pics :D)
