Astronaut's use Nikon as accelerometer!

ahhh...into the 'Russian Segment' where everything is still painted 'T-34 Green' - I half expected to see hand-painted slogans like 'Za Rodina!' on the walls (For the Motherland!)...

I miss the Soviets...

Soviet Ordnance Green actually, its the colour used on all military exteriors. But I suspect you actually mean the green they paint aircraft flight decks:

Thats scientifically derived to be calming to the crew in stressful situations. Clever fellows those Russians ;-)

Oh in some places they never really went away

lol...Just HOW did I know you'd respond to this...?

Pretty cool. :)

That lens though, looks like it had a set of extension tubes/converters on?

Since those are long lenses, it's unlikely they're the ones being used to photograph inside the Space Station...possibly some kind of attachment for photographing the Earth from Orbit - but more than likely they're just teleconverters...both the ones he used looked like they had them attached, as did the longer lens velcro'd to the wall on the right of the picture...

How cool - in a weightless environment just a small square of velcro can hold those monster lenses right up there...

love it, makes trying to teach physics to a surly 13 yr old much more fun!

i.e. "he's got a much bigger one than you!...............

LOSER
