I have an Asus Striker 2 Formula Motherboard, however I've just purchased some Geil Black Dragon 1066MHz PC8500 DDR2 Memory, it works at 1066MHz when only 2 slots are used (Dual channel mode blue slots) but when all 4 are used (Quad channel mode) it only works at 800 MHz, my front side bus is 1333, memory voltage 2.2v recommended.

Am I doing something wrong or is my board at fault

Does anyone else use this board and have they experienced this problem?

The manual mentions something about setting the speed in the bios when using 1066 memory but there's no mention of it running slower with 4 sticks in it.

try upping the voltage on the northbridge a notch, might be all it needs

What are you sticking in the other 2 slots? Do you have 4 sticks of the Geil RAM?

good point, I forgot to mention i bought a quad channel kit (4 sticks of memory).

I'll try the upping the voltage on the north bridge and the memory, then see if it does the trick :)

kind Regards

I've upped the north bridge voltage and the memory voltage, it works now at 1066 in quad channel mode without crashing
