Attaching my camera to a telescope, help

My son is getting a Meade ext 80 Telescope for christmas and i'd like to get the "bits" to attach my camera, Canon EOS 450D, to it. Could anyone help me out by telling me exactly what i need. I have looked myself but am getting confused and dont want to buy the wrong things/size.
Thanks for any help you can give me as we'd like to order the whole set up over the weekend,

The telescope already has a built in adaptor at the rear, you just need a T ring for your camera to fit it, though it is not designed for DSLR's so the suggested method may be best, you will though need to balance the weight of the camera by adding weight to the tube forward of the mount, equal to the weight of the camera, this is usually done via a sliding weight system that fits underneath the telescope but could be achieved using a suitable weight of plasticine taped in place.

The tracking will only handle short exposures as the mount is Alt/Az and not equatorial, enough to do the moon though.

Heidi, I had a Meade 70 etx telescope for a while - As I understand it, the 80 is the newer model. Unless the motors have changed considerably in the upgrade, then in my experience, prepare to not be too amazed by this combo. You can get a T ring to put your camera onto the back of the scope, but the motors really won't cope well with moving the DSLR around as well. It will also move around alot and not be very stable.

When I upgraded my scope, I realised just how uninspiring the Meade really was.
