Back to DSLR?

Yes
Well after owning a Canon 100D for a year and a half I decided it wasn't being used much apart from my weekly trip to Manchester Airport.
I was using my Canon S120 mostly and decided trade my 100d for a Gx80 which is excellent and lightweight and takes nice images. But a 250mm telephoto lens for it was expensive and I missed taking photos of planes.
So I bought a Panasonic bridge camera (fz330) and it's full of features and the zoom range is great, however I really miss the iq of my DSLR and the fact it focuses quicker when panning.
I'm thinking of maybe trading my bridge camera and gx80 and getting a 600d and a few lenses.
Just wondering what people's thoughts are on the 600d?

I know nothing of canon…
To my 30 yo daughter, I gave one of my D810
as I'm expecting two D850 soon enough.

Different cameras for different purposes - the perfect one for all occasions hasn’t been invented yet :)

For improved iq, yes why not go back to dslr?

I have phone camera, compact Sony, several Canon dslrs, and a medium format. All good in their own way.

Maybe I need to get over the fact for what I do with my images (Flickr) the IQ of the Fz330 is fine.
It's not as good in low-light but I very rarely take photos at in low-light.

that is a good point,same here.saves a bit of money also :)

Why so many,

The D3S is the backup of the D3X and have
two D810. Since The D800E, I have three
long lenses and I always backup everything
not mainly in case of failure but of more work.

I've just sold my Canon kit (well, 600D and 2 lenses) and moved to Nikon. I wasn't altogether happy with the image quality of the 600D and didn't want to spend the money on an 80d which seemed the logical upgrade, so I made a somewhat sideways move and bought a D3200. I much prefer the Canon button layout, but the Nikon IQ is better IMO.

Jesus, Lordy O'Reilly! Certainly plenty of work lugging that lot around with you, not to mention paying for it all - the value new of that lot new sounds greater than my accrued pension!

I've got a 30 year old F3, and a fairly venerable D7000 for backup...:)

Under normal conditions not really but the next 2 months for
sure as I will move the studio to another location, during the
low season, further outside this semi-urban agglomeration.

Which one is that as a matter of interest?

Kodiak Photography is moving some 6 km from our
actual location in Kaindorf to Gralla — in the south
Styrian country side. As our client base are corpora-
tions, publishers, national distributors etc, the choice
of the location is pretty irrelevant. There is a very fast
internet connection there to provide further the mento-
ring and teaching sessions… we're doing fine I think.

Gralla is an even smaller village where I will be ren-
ting a old farm house that was renovated two years
ago — fewer but quite larger rooms where the studio
alone will be some 13 square meters larger.

Since my two boys are moving out, I will live alone
there but we are still working together. Of course, I will
still accommodate my boys for the late running urgent
shoots.

This move is a conséquence of my divorce.

OP of shooting planes like this it doesn't have to be DLSR, most mirrorless should be able to cope with these kinds of shots and can be considerably smaller and lighter than a DSLR setup.

Hope the change and move are the start of something good (y)

I'm thinking of maybe going for a Panasonic G7 or G80 and a 45-200 lens. At Manchester Airport the maximum focal length I was using on my Canon 55-250 was 180mm at most according to the exif data.
I really like the features in the Panasonic cameras.

I'll keep using my Fz330 till summer then reasses what I want.

Thanks. I only hope it is the end of something
that went and ended very bad… a nightmare.
