Keith ... :wave: ... you asked how to tell the difference between a Barbary Dove and an 'ordinary' Collared Dove in the RSPB Garden Birdwatch thread recently ...

Well I have finally managed to capture a half decent image of our 'resident' Barbary with the 'ordinary' type also in shot ... :D


Not a technically brilliant image but here you go ... :shrug:

I wouldn't bother yourself too much with this one as they are not so frequent ... :cautious: ... we have just the one and it really stands out in a crowd of Collared Doves because it is sooo much lighter and a lot more mottled in its plumage ... :shrug: ...

... the main bird is NOT a blown or over-exposed Collared Dove ... :LOL:
