Basic Computer - Is this any good ?

I've been asked by a friend to help him choose his first PC. He tells me he will only want it for surfing the net, making CD's for the car & printing the odd 6 x4 photo.

Ideally max budget £350 to allow for extras e.g. printer

That PC is a bit poor, you can get better.

The hard drive is very small going by todays standards, only 1GB RAM (you want at least 2GB), old processor, old graphics.

Go to the Dell site look at the Inspiron 530 and spec what you want, you will get a good spec for under £400 inc all needed accessories.

Thanks for that - a quick question will he need to add a wireless network card to the build. He is going to sign up to BT Broadband, which will come with a router. As I'm still using a USB modem not certain exactly what's required

yup, usually works better towards the end of the month when theyre trying to hit sales targets etc.
