The only one which to me has any interest is the last one where the old gentleman who is probably ex-service appears to be remembering his fallen comrades from another conflict.
They all seem unsharp or OOF

Yes using a low f stop will give you a shallow dof and make focusing critical, in some cases shallow dof is great but if you look at the last one the jacket sleeve is in focus but the face is not.
Also using a single focus point makes life a bit easier as you have control not the camera as if you use multiple focus points the camera will grab what it wants not what you want, the two are not mutually exclusive
