Bean bags, filling

Other than the poly balls, what else do any of you fill them with? Mine has the poly balls and some times feels way to light. what else works well?

Dry silica sand. OR rice, (uncooked!!) dried in oven for 10 mins. Both go in a strong poly bag, sealed, then into beanbag.

Smarties, that be exspensive to fill i have a large bag lol. and i would eat them. dried rice sounds a good option, is there such a material that is water proof but can breath too let moisture out?

I bought mine (a double) from wildlife watching supplies. Basically it has the outer cover and then two separate bags (made from waterproof nylon), so you could take one out and use it as a single.

Very well made and should last for years

Won't be hunting any thing really. just the dogs in a large garden, but like to keep camera still when low down and saves mud getting attached to the bottom of the camera.

Don't forget rice is already handy for buying at the 'other end' when travelling overseas so you pack your beanbag 'flat', as it's readily available (even in paddy fields :O))

Rice in first and then silica gel beads to fill up.Gives the bags more weight at the bottom.

I tried Tesco Rice Pudding but makes a mess mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I use Tesco value dried adzuki beans, just the right size to give a good grip. Ones filled with poly balls I found had little grip and were useless, especially when they blew into the lake.
