Been asked to do a photoshoot.....!

I'm still very new to photography with tonnes of stuff to learn, buit loving every minute of it.

Ive been posting some photos ve been taking to my facebook page and a good friend of mine has asked me to do a photoshoot for his band. As yet im unsure if these will be shots of them practicing, at a gig or portraite shots etc.

I really want to do it but have no idea where to start, ive never taken shots ina dark environment before like at a gig etc so have no idea what equipment to use or what setting to use.

I currently own the kit listed in my signautre and im hoping some of you kind toggers out there could lend a bit of experience and give me some pointers

hmmmm get a nifty fifty if its DARK, but it'll be a pig to focus in the dark, might need to use some flash, depending on the event it might be worth having a word with the lighting tech or staff to see if you can get some light where you want it
