I expect there is a simple answer to this but i cant find it! I have a Nikon D60. When i select "single point" from AF-Area Mode and then take shots, when focussing the left hand focus point is the one that turns red, i am assuming that will then be the focus point? At a loss with this despite poring over the manual. Help please!

Brian

not sure if i getting this right but sounds like you have moved the focus point easy way too move it back is half press shutter release then use the D-pad to move the focus point back too centre

thats exactly right !

i only found this out myself yesterday

Absolutley spot on!! I put it down to yet another senior moment:lol:, its not broke then!

thanks Brian

Hi. I had the same problem if you press the selector on the back left or right it will move the focus point. Page 59 in the manual I think.

Yeah i have this problem especially when my nose keeps pressing the button and moving it to the left! lol

I was amazingly thankful that my camera has a "lock" on the d-pad - so my face no longer causes that problem!

funnily enough i had a similar type thing when i got my D90 as there a switch to stop the focus point being moved and took me about an hour too find how too move it as my old camera didnt have the option and like i do with anything else i never read the instructions first.

Similar situation with me - I saw it and engaged it, thinking "I wonder what this L does?" I left it on and fired a couple of test shots, then went to change the focal point - and the function of the switch became clear... "Omg. O. M. G. YAY FOR THE L!" :D
