I see there are tons of details in the sky and on the ground
but the scene is lacking the theatrical atmosphere usually
expressed in these light conditions.

I was expecting something far more bleak from the title, I love the shot, but maybe it could have done with a little less sky and more of the lines from the fields to lead the eye to the center of the shot.

I agree, I expected bright yellow rape under the dark skies.

What you really need here is the really dark broken clouds, then when the sun bursts through and highlights the rape fields that makes a really contrasty shot.
The camera has exposed for an overcast day, and has exposed for the sky predominantly as you'd expect so you could bring up the foreground, however you really need that shaft of sunlight and a stronger anchor or focal point.
