Good folks of TP,

Myself and the current Mrs D :suspect: are heading up to the Berwick area next week, staying in a house in Coldingham, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to good photography locations around there. I am really looking to get some sunrise/ set locations as I don't often get the chance.

We are defo doing Edinburgh on Tuesday and was hoping for some pointers to locations to get the castle lit up in the evening, but any other suggestions are more thn welcomed. I have interogated Flickr and google maps/ images for ideas but having a few bankers would be nice.

As an aside does anyone haev any suggestions as to disabled parking in Edinburgh for a large Mercedes Vito sized vehicle? Would need to be for the day and into the evening.

Many thanks in advance.

Nick

For when you are in the Coldingham neck of the woulds you have the following on your doorstep which are ideal for shooting -

Seacliff, Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne (Holy Island), Farne Islands (by boat)

As for Edinburgh, the castle is best captured either from the esplanade, the mound or from Princes Street.
As the tram works are currently ongoing in Edinburgh at present you will get piece on Princes Street to shoot/setup tripods etc.

Re disabled parking, there are spaces in George Street (one street behind Princes Street), Castle Terrace (at the West End of town) and near the bridges (East End of town) to name a few places.
You shouldn't have trouble getting disabled parking and the fe places I have mentioned put you a stones throw from the places you are likely to shoot.

Here's a link though that identifies all disabled parking spaces in Edinburgh in street order

Hope this helps.
Feel free to PM me for any other info you may need.

Thanks very much for that I will go and have a look. Now can anyone sort the weather out!

I liked Dunbar, I camped there for a few nights and the sunsets were very nice there. There's a bridge that sits in the middle of the beach, which could give a nice focal point for a sunset picture?

There's the East Fortune Museum of Flight that, which I think is free. You could get a few shots of the Concorde.

East Linton is very picturesque.

I never actually seen them in person, but I found these tank traps on Flickr a few years ago and they could make another interesting beach shot.

Have a good time.
