I've had another look, there a loads of possibles, but missing little bits of colouring or something. No luck I'm afraid!

no wonder I can't find any of them - Morris' (whoever that is?) guide to birds was written in 1891 - most of them have probably mutated since then

OK this is my final answer - some sort of sparrow, bunting, or warbler - not playing anymore - I'm all birded out

Although the picture was slightly misleading because:-
1) the 'Stone'chat was on a wire and not a stone.
2) it couldn't 'chat' because it had it's mouth full. (the wink has turned blue??)
