Bird Challenge #9 - Birds In The Landscape

Time to get a little bit creative this month and get out there and photograph some birds in their enviroment.
A lot of bird photographers (Myself included) seem to concentrate on getting close up shots of our feathered friends showing fine detail and sometimes fail to see the bigger picture.

So the challenge is to show birds in their natural habitat...
It could be a Grouse in the heather with rolling hills behind it.
A Swan on a lake as the sun is setting.
Twenty thousand Starlings displaying at dusk.

It's up to you!

Two photographers I have long admired and who are masters of this style of photography are Ben Hall and Geoff Simpson hopefully a quick look at their work will give you inspiration.

Images Only In This Thread, discussion thread here

Images must be taken between Monday 8th Feb and Sun 28th Feb inclusive. Only ONE photo per person, though you may edit your original post with a new picture as many times as you wish until the challenge closes.

Usual forum size rules apply

:) Best of luck

Anthony

Here's a small flock of Canada Geese in the environment where they look the most graceful. Taken Saturday 13 Feb.

Seagull in London, what could be more natural? Kind of a different take on photographing Big Ben if nothing else!

Just a female Blackbird i captured a few days ago, she was quite willing to pose for me and saw me as no threat.

I am glad to be part of this challenge, and look forward to seeing all of your images.

I do hope you enjoy.

Best regards Paul

Haven't got one yet but have really enjoyed looking at all these photos, its a lovely album.

Not sure if this qualifies. It's a Jay in its natural woodland habitat at work digging out invertebrates from a mossy branch. It's just spotted me in this shot and took off soon afterwards.
