Birding in Majorca - Part 1

About this time last year I went to Majorca for a week with some other people to do some bird photography. Been too busy for photography for a while and realised I've never put them up. It was a great place to visit and lots of species I've not seen before so well worth a visit if you can get there! Especially since the weather was so good and it was out of season so pretty quiet all around. Definitely recommended.

Anyway they aren't all up to the quality I'd like, but I'll put them up anyway just to give people an idea of what birds are around. Still, I'm happy to receive any criticism. Having said that, I think my equipment was the limiting factor as I had to get what I could when I could. The birds were often slightly further than I'd have liked but I didn't have time to wait around for long periods to get better shots due to being with other people.

Just realised I can only add 8 images per post so I'll add the last few on another thread.

Great set there ... you can always add more images by posting a reply to your original post :)

I prefer this first set where some takes are real jewels: #1, 2, 3, 6, 7.

Thanks for your comments. Yeah this set is definitely better than the other, I started with the better ones and made my way down so the other ones are the worst.

The Z Cisticola and the S Warbler for me - really interesting shots

Super shots of amazing birds ,where about in Majorca were you?

Sorry for the lack of reply, I've been away. Thanks for your comments. I think the S Warbler is my favourite.

Our base was Porto Pollenca, but we travelled around the island as my friends had been the year before so knew the better areas to visit. We spent 2 of the days at S'Albufera/S'Albufereta which was the best place imo. We also travelled into the tramuntana mountains to some reservoirs up there, plus a monstry in the hills which had nice views but was rather quiet bird wise. Also went down to the southern tip at Cap de Ses Celines and finally the salt pans at I think Ses Celines. Oh, and just outside the place we were staying was a valley with quite a few birds too. I'm definitely going to go back as it was a great place for birding imo!
