hey everyone:)

this is my first post here, thought id say hello. hi:)

i have a finepix s5800 and im gona move up to a DSLR soon. im looking at the alpha 200 currently. anyway ive been trying to take pictures of birds in flight around my home but i cant get decen results. so i was wondering what gear i may need to go with my alpha 200 to get good results lol. also. i was looking at the 70-300mm telephot made by sony, and i noticed they make another lens but like in white and this one has a tridpod colar and dials on it, what is it lol?

Hi Kris, and welcome to TP.

I can't help you specifically with Sony lens and questions as I have no experience of them at all. What you will need to get birds in flight is a fast focussing lens. Don't know what Sony has to offer in this range, try posting a specific sony lens question as there are a number of sony users on here (y)

Welcome to TP :)

Birds in flight are a tad difficult to capture, even for those with the right equipment. The finepix s5800 will probably take a while after pressing the shutter before it takes the photo, by which time the bird has flown out of focus, so you've done not too bad really :)

1 and 3 are not too bad if a little blurry.

Sorry I don't know much about Sony gear either.

Perhaps if you posted a question in the Technical thread regarding Sony lenses, a Sony user would be more likely to pick up on it. Best off luck :)
