Birds of prey

Went to Thorpe Perrow Arboretum today and the bird of prey and mammal centre there (though there weren't many mammals ). The falcons and owls were great and I caught two displays. Anyway, loads of portraits mainly, but I still like them.

Canon 350D with Canon 70-200 2.8 L IS and Canon 2x converter. EXIFs should be retained.

1. Female goshawk.

2. Indian eagle owl.

3. Jackal buzzard.

4. Lanner falcon.

5. Peregrine falcon.

6. Peregrine falcon.

7. Peregrine falcon.

8. Saker falcon.

9. Turkmanian eagle owl.

Really recommend going for the birds but the arboretum is good for some landscapes too.

I think 2 and 5 really show the intensity that BOP concentrate on a target. Great set of captures. I think my fave is number 5, the falcon looks like it's about to take off and hunt

Yeah, now you mention it, it might not be as sharp as the others. I do have lots of other ones of that bird, I just liked the pose from that shot.

Lovely set of shots. I like the ones of the peregrine falcon ones best.
