hi everyone

keep reading in photo mags about blogs (photopro etc)

does any one on here have one.... and do you get any customers from it or is it just another load of typing and uploading rather than taking photographs??

I have a blog which I made just recently and I'm using it to upload photos, and just write about anything that springs to mind. A blog is what you make it, and I'm sure you could operate photograph sales through it too. You can also use google adsense to make money from people clicking on adverts at the side of the blog too. I've found however that the hardest thing is getting people to actually find/read the blog.. A good thing about it is that it adds more personality i suppose?
 
I have a blog (one of a few...) - while I don't make any money through my photography, I find it fun. And Blogger is really easy to use. See the link in my signature :)

It's against Google's policy to write anything in your blog saying "please click the links", just so you know. They will use this as a reason not to pay out :)

I've just visited your website, and my guess is that most of your custom is coming from WoM.
You have some great images and the website looks good, but where are you based?*
How far are you happy to travel?

If I did randomly find your site and want to book you - how would I know whether you were in New Orleans or Newcastle?

Which brings us to the 2 best thing about blogs, if you write interesting and relevant content - your customers build a relationship with your on-line presence. And Google will find lots of relevant data with which to rank your website. For Google this means that if someone is looking for a wedding photographer for one of your local venues, then they can lead customers to your door - just because you have told the world you've photographed a wedding there before! What's not to love?:love:

The word Manchester is hidden in your metadata 3 times but mentioned nowhere on your site (at a cursory search). You need to give Google a helping hand to team you up with your customers.

Lose the google ads, seriously. They look appallingly unprofessional.
