Joe - you assume too much methinks! Bimmer owner here though not your usual "boy racer" (car or owner) - Love to go but the Ryder Cup is on so will be festering in front of the box ALL weekend - Come on u Euros!

That really stinks but at least it was just the hood and not the lens itself.

Is it insured? Maybe under your house contents? I'm with DirectLine and my policy covers items up to the value of about £5K away from home..

I think the excess will be more than the £200 tbh.

If I find a good engineering workshop they might be abe to replace the screw thread for me, and maybe even sort out the lenshood.
