can i add to this with another question? How on earth do you pronounce it???
is it b-oh-k-eh (with the eh like an eh as apposed to an ay type sound)

ive just noticed trying to type that question was really quite difficult! lol

DOF LOL

There's a thread somewhere on TP from a while back

just did a search and from previous posts it seems there are as many pronunciations as there are TP members lol

Bocker does it for me, though personally I don't like the expression. Why do we need to use a Japanese term to describe the OOF area of a photograph?

because its easier to say "nice Bokeh" than "the area that is intentionally out of focus works really well" ?well thats my take on it.

I place the emphasis on the first syllable and pronounce it 'bow-ki'.

great, here comes how to pronounce bokeh THREAD 2! :D
