A nice casual 5.30am sunrise thats about 2 hours from home, is always a fair commitment but to witness the power of the ocean against these basalt columns at this abandoned quarry is a truly special sight. Last minute plan to go with a forecast of poor weather, high tide and big swell dragging me out of bed at 2.30am! I even got luckly with a beautiful sunrise (not processed yet), but I wanted a more stormy image rather than golden light.

That is outstanding!!! If I had to pic a fault- I would have loved to see abit more detail in the Rocks/cliffs, though it could be my bad laptop screen
 
Lovely, but I think i'd be tempted to raise the shadows ever so slightly.
 
Lovely movement in the waves & looks much better in the full screen shot, I can't decide between the edit or original to be honest. I'd try lifting the shadows on the middle rock section on their own & see how that looks ? I do like this a lot, well done :)
 
Fantastic! I'd leave the rocks looking dark to keep them looking imposing. Great work, well worth getting up early for!
