booking forms? help needed.

hello all!

i really need some assistance. instead of having to print out a form, post it and wait for it to be returned i would like to give clients the choice of a pdf file that i can email them, they can fill out and email back - but i cant seem to do this. I created a 'form' using word but as the 'rectangle' boxes for writing in are a shape when convetered they dont allow for text to be added.

can someone point me in the right direction, perhaps a program to use to build a form and how i can go about making it editable in pdf format?

any advice is gratefully received, thanks x

does it have to be pdf what about doing one in word

they can then edit the document resave and send back

You can try www.pdfescape.com. You might want to create it in word first, then save as PDF, then upload and create the fillable sections.

you must use word if you want the clients to be able to add text and return easily via email. There are website's out there to get free sample forms you can edit to suit your needs.

That's OK but remember not everybody has word

You can get pdf documents to allow people to change certain areas/ or write in. I know you can does this in the full version of the Adobe software but its not cheap.

Not sure if you can get a free program to create the pdf forms where people can adjust parts.

You can always create one in word, if people dont have word to open up the document open office can be used which is a free office program.

Or if you want it all done electronically, you could have a form on your website that sends you the results.

Or you can create an online form using Google Docs (if you set up Google Apps this can all be done through your domain).

Making assumptions on what software clients have access to isn't ideal. Forms are one area where compatible software isn't exactly compatible, Open office etc usually mess up formatting and I've had times where PDF forms aren't compatible with the (non adobe) PDF reader on my machine.

Also don't forget people who use tablets/phones, downloading, editing, resaving and sending may not be possible.

You can also attach a form you make up in Word, to a PDF document. (with full software) So they get the unchangeable pdf instructions and a form with it to send back, all packaged together within the pdf.
