Yes
Do you normally indicate that you will be doing a photo shoot and are they OK about it, and do they give tog a discount?

Just asking because I have to travel and want to find a classy hotel.

Thanks

Steve

Looks like we are on our own here.

Why don't the three of us have a little comp:

Book a Hotel room specifically for a photo shoot, the best reduction rate for toggin WINS.

We can play and experience this ourselves, then pass our experience onto others.

Are you game???????? :D

I am sure I have seen hotels that charge by the hour but I don't think they were used for photo sessions. The best thing would be to find your hotels and give them a call and see what they say I expect the large chains will have a policy set either yes or no with a rate if they do, the independents will make a decision on the spot. It will also make a difference if the hotel is fully booked or not, if it is empty they will see a few hours income as good but if it is full or close to full your tieing a room up that could be sold as accommodation and they would sell it for hopefully more than your willing to pay. Remember they will need to service the room before and after you leave so its not that great a deal for the hotel.

The other way would be to look for a night stay you have 18 hours of studio time with varying natural light, as a hotel guest you will have full use of facilities and the hotel grounds for different shots. Now how much does it cost to hire a studio for 18 hours?

Good thinking, thanks for that

might want to make clear the, uh...intentions and decency of your shoot to the staff ;) otherwise they might just assume far worse when they see you taking your kit in :P

It depends on the hotel...

There are a couple near to me that I've used for boudoir shoots and I ask specifically for the rooms I want and explain what it's for. Usually I'll do the shoot and the client stays on at the hotel and makes a night of it, they have, after all paid for it.

If it's a select, boutique or high end hotel, then I'd inform them and they're usually only too happy to help.
