That's Birds Of Prey, in case you were wondering...

The owls made us wait, but it was worth it I suppose. The buzzard just sat there for me, for once, not flying off.

Common Buzzard

Taken early morning through the mist at Forhill, Worcs.

Barn Owl

Taken after sun-down at Cossington, at ISO 1250.

Short-eared Owl

All with a Canon 50D and 500mm F4 + 1.4TC.

Cheers - buzzard is my favourite too. The amount of times they've flown off before I could get a shot off... Bit like green woodpeckers.

Thanks - looks like it might have a dodgy leg - seems to be flailing on most of my (much more blurred) other shots. Still managed to catch food though.

Cheers for the kind words. I popped over there yesterday afternoon and nearly froze in the blizzard conditions...

Needless to say I didn't see the SEOs or the barn owls. Just a miserable looking kestrel. Speaking to a local who had been there Monday too, he hadn't seen the owls since Sunday, and wondered if they had gone.
