Bored in Heathrow!

I am at a training event and find myself with no plans this evening. I do have my Fuji X10 with me though!!

Are there any recommendations for photographing the airport or other areas at night?

Anyone want to meet up to do a little photography tonight?!

why not try light trails of the planes landing or taking off

Well I tried doing some light trails from 'The Thistle' hotels viewing platform. Sadly it really was not high enough and the results were a bit disappointing.

One amusing one was of a BA jet that had to pull up right at the last moment when it realised there was still a plane on the run way

Longish exposure resting the camera on the hand rail of the moving walkways is quite fun. About half a second should convey plenty of movement but keep the moving walk way fairly sharp.
