opinions? Has anyone ever used this company before?

I'm looking into borrowing.. sigma 70-200 2.8 for a week :)

Now I could be reading it wrong, but they look American to me, which could make things difficult for you to hire from them. We hve LensesforHire here, the owner is forum member too. However, am I right in thinking you are under 18 Frankie, because there may be rules about needing parental guarantees or similar, you would have to check

This is only pertinent to our San Francisco customers. We have partnered with Action Camera to be our San Francisco distribution center. You can now pick up your order there, instead of driving to San Mateo. Please see our FAQ section for details.

This may have given it away!

Looks quite good though.
Dean:)

Look american to me. All the prices are in $, plus Stewart from Lensesforhire is cheaper anyway. A nikon 70-200 f2.8 is £59.75 for 7 days from Lenses for hire, Borrowlenses is $69.

Even not taking into account the conversion factor of the dollar, Stewart wins.

I've just turned 18.

I thought it was an english company i'm so sure.

They are Definitely American, from California and do not ship to the UK.

Stewarts service is excellent.

Ive hired off him twice now, and will be hiring again this year.

You cant knock him in anyway, great prices, quick delivery, and the business works on trust so no hefty deposits ( which many cant afford ) are required.

BorrowLenses.com is indeed based in California. It's a great company. Mark Gurevich and Max Shebyakov who run it have a great customer focus and were very helpful to me when I was starting up LensesForHire.co.uk. LensRentals.com, based in Tennessee and run by Roger Cicala, is similarly good.

But even if you're visiting the USA, I think you might struggle to be able to take advantage of their services. The problem is that if a tourist hires a lens whilst on holiday, and then "forgets" to return it, there's pretty much nothing the hire company can do about it. Not too attractive as a business proposition!
