Summer of 2023 in Bournemouth. The water temperature was lovely in May.

Sure I will give it a go. It was a really sunny day in Bournemouth and I tried to process the image closer to the way it felt.

It's definitely nice. I'd have shot from much lower to make it feel more engaging & probably made less of a feature of the background.

I love shooting in direct sun but it can be tricky to make the most of the direction of the light. It's a bit odd to have the nose fully lit but not the near cheek.

Agreed that a lower vantage point would have made the composition more engaging.

This situation probably could do with a reflector to light up the shadows but we did not have this on this particular day on the beach.

There's nothing wrong with the depth of the shadows, it's the position of them & you don't need a reflector for that. If her head had been turned a fraction to the right it would have worked better IMO.

Thanks! I am thinking of printing this with the same caption. A printed photo has a totally different feel.
