I completely agree, there has most certainly been better posted on here by a large number of people. Then again, maybe that was the best that was entered?
 
It's always subjective and the judges included a strong representation from the image library/editorial end of the market so maybe they were looking for something different.

I think the starlings above the garage forecourt is stunning and can see than on a double page spread in a magazine.

Still, they didn't like any of mine...
 
I agree, most of these work but as mentioned there has been a number on here that would knock spots off them. As Arron said, they can only judge whats entered though.

Number 2 (for me) looks more like an advert for BP than a wildlife image. :shrug:
 
Yeh Yeh We all know someone that has a better picture, but that is in your eyes only :D The judges decision is final. Another thing you are forgetting is that those winning pictures have brought a lot of pleasure to those that took them, and they are just like you and I ;) If it was your picture that won something and somebody made that statement, i am sure you would not be pleased.I personally think the Blackbird shots are good, in fact there is a whole new ball game in this department. Ok it may not be to everybodys taste but it is winning competitions as far as I can see. CVheck it out :thumbs:

i thought they were in the normal idiom for general photograpy with bells and whistles...and animals

animal photography starts with the eye...then you work your way out....

i did like the deer shot though...reminded me of dunham massey

 
There not too bad. Some of them i wish i could take.
 
it might be just me then :) , i just think that 90% of the stuff in the animals and nature forums is better than those

it may be because animal photography is about animals
not so much mood and choclate box stuff
