Just wondering what the average time was to fix a line fault ?
Reported my Mothers' phoneline to BT on New Years eve and had a text the following day saying it would be fixed by the 7th of Jan
She can't make or receive phone calls, although anyone calling will hear it ringing
Been searching online and have just discovered there's a free priority repair service that she can apply for,so will have to do that for any further problems
(Network round here seems iffy at the best of times :gag:)

Probably busy due to the new year, if your mum has a mobile you can divert the calls to the mobile via the BT website.

took 10 days and still didn't get it fixed 100% for months sorry to say.

The last one I had took 5 months to be fixed, not completely dead but so crackly it was difficult to hear properly and it kept on disconnecting my broadband, I must have had almost all the engineers they had in that time until the last bloke checked it out properly, it was a rubbed cable on the pole outside my house, simple stuff, most of them couldn't be bothered.

They don't seem to have caught up after all the repairs needed after the floods early last year and non-urgent stuff like moving a master socket is taking over a month.

Also a lot of stuff is being sub-contracted out to Kelley Communications now.

Thanks for the replies,I'm having to go down the mobile route at the moment, which is ok for me but my Mother, (90 with hearing and sight problems just to mention a couple),struggles at the best of times to embrace technology
Frustrating part is the telephone pole and underground gubbings is just outside the front gate
......so it now seems that the line problem will be sorted 'ON' rather than by the 7th

when ours went down and they promised to get contact us in the next 24 hours, but failed to do so, me as an "awkward customer" - see my special name - emailed the CEO about 8.30-9pm.

In fact I received an email "sent by blackberry" 10.30ish pm, saying he would get his exec team to resolve it the next day

Funnily enough, by noon the next day was repaired. Complete rewire from some outside box to the box inside the house.

not bt with us but had a major fault with my house phone and they guy replace all the outside wiring on the house
any way i was speaking to the engineer and found out lots of info on the what packages are availble that they dont tell you about

one of them was a gaming profile to give you maximum upload i think for playing xbox although you may not notice the diffrence it help's to keep the online experience more stable and it was a new thing not even advertised he even called them for me and set it up on the sly well happy

shame the area can only with stand slow speeds but i am aware fibre optics are been fitted within the next 2 year just 5 streets from me there fitting it now but it is buisness only for time being but atleast it is a start
