Not sure if you've seen this yet, but this one is definitely worth a look for all the bug shooters here:

This is a very clever image. It's actually a double exposure shot, one exposure for the background (including the sun) and a second for the close-up of the subject. Not only that, but also swapping lenses in between shots.
If that wasn't impressive enough, it was captured by an 8 year old boy. A very worthy winner in my opinion. Unusual technique with fantastic results. Might have to see if I can do double exposures with my camera body (I don't think it's possible with my canon, but I might be wrong).
