Hi just after a bit of advice,a friend of mine has asked me to try and produce a better photo than this one;

TEST.jpg

its for his website http://www.stationery-direct.co.uk/

In order to get a better image am i right in thinking i need a large dof and some good lighting? im getting a tripod soon so thats that area covered.

the image above doesnt look sharp and the lighting isnt the best, because of what the business cards are made of light bounces of them and you loose detail so im looking for a good CHEAP lightsource for this if anyone can suggest anything.

any hints or tips on getting a good image would be very much appreciated :thumbs:

look on somewhere like ebay for a light box.

You will be able to put the cards in that and use a flash outside it, this will diffuse the light and stop the reflections.

Or just use a large diffuser like the ones that flash in the pan sells.

For product photography you need to light well, you need to be able to control the direction, spill and reflection of light. Time to hit the tutorials methinks :)

cheers peeps i will have a look for a lightbox and also look in the tutorials, but ofcourse i welcome more opinions and advice/hints/tips :D

Is it best to not use the uv protective filter on my lens seeing as the shots will be indoors?

also can anyone provide a link to a decent well priced lightbox?

thanks
