Had a day of macro today, a joy to see so many bees and hovers

Wow, that is close... I bow down to your superier focusing ability!

Lovely set - I particularly like the second from last.
 
Awesome set!! well done!! getting a canon 100mm 2.8 macro.....will this lens be capable of images this close up?
 
I'm going to hazard a guess and say most look to be around 2:1 with the exception of the last which looks slightly more.

So a 100mm would require a full set of tubes or any of the other methods to get you to that magnification.

And an awful lot of practise/skill, images like that don't come out of the box with any macro lens!!!

They are very, very good.

Thanks all for looking, Neils about right 2:1ish on these and for Tyson you have to be about around 40-60mm to subject with mpe, you do miss a lot more shots with the mpe than you would get with the 100mm but when you finally do get a shot its very gratifying
