Hi,

I am building a Canon Wireless mobile kit. I will have 580EX on camera, and 550EX + 430EX to go on stands. My budget is already stretched after buying these so I need to keep my expenditure to a minimum for the next few months.

I need 2 stands with umbrellas and adapters. I found some links, but I would like to know your opinion please. If you know better ones - then even better, please share.

[BOUGHT] - What do you think about these KONIG stands?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=180348998477
Alternatively WE has Lastolite stands at £25 (double price)

I bought one used silver/black 30" Photoflex umbrella and am thinking of this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=220407994565
Are they durable enough? What size would I need? Should I add another silver one as well (and what are the best deals)? do I need 7mm or 8mm shaft?

Finally swivel adapters... I could only find HK supplies http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-PCS-Flash-S...0|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50
are they compatible with stands and flashes? Do you know any good UK deals?

Are there any good bundles? It would make sense at least...

Thank you

You can pick up the Konig light stands for £10.99 delivered from 7dayshop.....saved you a couple of quid there :)

I've got a couple of konig stands which are decent enough. The umbrella/flash brackets look the same as mine and they're rubbish. Cheap and plasticy. Mine have started to crack.

You can have quality, or cheap, you can't have both. Personally,I'd suggest a couple of these, but it depends how much you value your lights...

EDIT: Jessops were doing one for a tenner, might be worth a try. At least you could actually see what you were buying before parting with any cash

I saw 2 stands for like 19 pound on amazon (konig ones) as I bought this recently, decided to learn one light and its modifiers before going on to multiple lights (I learn slow)

I bought a manfrotto adaptor for 20 quid ish on WEX, they're 16 something at another shop (search for my thread in talk lighting for a link)

for brollies I bought a calumet 46" removable cover jobby (only getting one set of kit meant I could splash the cash a little more) and in all honesty its a bit big for portability (in its bag a bit longer than the konig stand in its bag)

I was worried about buying from fleabay in case I got dodgy chinese stuff with a colour cast
