I think its the same one for nearly everything, I've had a few M/F camera's and they've all had the same tapered threaded socket for cabled shutter release.
Yep - the standard generic cable release will work just fine on the 1000S. Get a locking one if you can - it makes it a lot easier to do long time exposures.
