Just started posting so thought I'd start with something I've done recently, Sunday's recent enough...

Bought myself a cactus over the weekend, had one as a kid but not sure whatever happened to it and it wasn't long before it ended up in front of my camera. Used a Sigma 105mm with a +1 and a +2 extension tube, had to use a Jessops 460afd flash with a Stofen diffuser to get enough light.

I like these type of cactus pictures. I think that you have dealt with the lighting pretty well. However, it's looking a little soft to me - Need it nice and sharp in the middle - If you'll pardon the pun!
 
I'll forgive you this time ;)

I think I'd probably agree that its a little soft, especially around white 'fluffy' bits, but not too bad overall. I'll give it another go at some point over the next few days and see if I can get it any better I can certainly think of a few things I did that are easy enough to improve for next time (faster shutter speed and more ambient light to help focusing especially)
