A question to anyone who happens to live in or near Putney in London. I've noticed a serious lack of photography clubs in this area, or least I'm not aware of any :suspect:! So a question... anyone know of photography clubs in this area?

If not, anyone in this area want to get something going? Like maybe just start with meets every so often, like once a month or even every few months etc? It might even bloom into something larger and more exciting :cool:. And some day we'll all be famous! :nuts:
 
I'm in Barnes and wouldn't mind meeting up with people in the area for a few shoots. Slightly limited at the moment as I'm working in Newcastle until end of March and only home at weekends, but would be good (there's only so many times I can drag the girlfriend out to tag along on a photo wander :))

Proper 'camera club' seems a bit stuffy for me, I'd be happy just meeting up with some people local for a wander round with the camera and a cheeky pint after..

This is more my style too. I think my question might have sounded like "Let's start up a camera club!" but it's more of a quest to find people in the area who want to meet up somewhat regularly. I know a couple of others from putney who are up for this too. I'm trying to arrange something or other for either next week or sunday 7th feb. If you guys are up for something like this we could arrange some sort of gathering
 
i'll be up for this guys, if you dont mind me tagging along. and if its in the city, i can get there easily enough from Upminster :)

the "cheeky pint" after has swung it for me !! ;)
 
The more the merrier! Where was the plan to meet up? Where was everyone thinking of meeting? In and around Putney or somewhere city based?
 
I don't really mind location wise. I'm up for anywhere really. Depends on what kind of stuff you want to shoot. Know of anyplace of interest that nicely fits both our photography and drinking needs? :naughty:
 
how about south ken, as a sort of midway starter !!

should be some top totty about for street stuff !! ;)
 
All sounds good, but I'm off on holiday til Friday, then out for g/f's birthday on the 6th. 7th may be a possibility as long as it's not too early :)
 
alive and kicking..... busy this weekend and hoping to get to north kent (isle of sheppey) next sunday... but anytime after that i'm free :)
 
I'm always up for a cheeky pint, I might even bring a camera :D
 
Looks like I'll have a free day Saturday at the moment. Need to take advantage of Hammersmith Bridge being closed to get some shots from the middle of the road :)
 
I don't fancy getting up too early...some time in the afternoon, maybe around 3 as the sun starts to sink and the light gets good...followed by a couple of drinks at the Blue Anchor or Rutland? :)
 
I'll keep an eye on this thread guys. Am keen to meet up (especially if there is a pint or two involved), my schedule is pretty hectic at the moment though.

I live in Herne Hill and work in Chiswick, so the locations mentioned so far would be grand. Just need a little bit of notice so I can pencil in a date. Alas can't make this Saturday.
 
Friday bump.

Weather forecast has taken turn for the worse.....forecast snow showers...but hey, gives me a chance to test the weatherproofing :) (and may have to take refuge in a nearby hostelry, darn)
 
Lordy, I forgot about this baby! What time and where are ye meeting? I'll try smooze along if ye're interested. Might even take the Mrs if she's keen for a few photos (seems my addiction has spread!)... and she's always up for a couple of beers too... but do warn if ye're planning a lads only day out :naughty: :lol:
 
Will post here tomorrow and see who's about then. Nothing else planned really, so I'll definitely be out with the camera at some point.
 
I actually can't do Hammersmith today after all. Forgot about plans I made with the other half :bonk:.
 
Nay worries, I'm just off to have a mooch about the shops, will be out and about near the river for a couple hours probably. Will check this thread on me iphone if anyone else is about just drop a post.
 
I am over in Raynes Park (near Wimbledon) and am always happy to meet up for a few snaps and a pint!
 
Should organise a meet......weekday evenings or weekends either are fine with me, although weekends more likely to be busy with other stuff.

Weekday evening along the river somewhere?
 
Could be good. We have loads of stuff near by that is great for togging. Wimbledon Common/Putney Heath, Richmond Park, the river etc, etc!
 
I've done the river from Putney to Mortlake to death, wouldn't mind somewhere down towards richmond....Richmond could work as I can tube there straight from work...can have a stroll along the river towards the park?

Will keep an eye on the weather going into next week.
 
Hi, just joined Talk Photography and would be really keen to become involved in any camera club in Putney, or being set up in Putney.
 
Hi Paul, and welcome. As this thread is a year old so I am not sure whether the Putney meets are still going. There was a meet in Richmond earlier in the year. There is a section in the forum where meets are arranged here. So keep an eye out for a local meet :)
