Just purchased my second mkIII :) used and previous owner had the filename NICK so if anyone had one and did that can ya PM me.. Ta:)

realise theres a lot of nicks about.. but whats the chance :)

Why not just contact the previous owner directly?

Very odd thread?

Why not make the thread more interesting and and tell us why:shrug:

I actually believe that it belong to Old Nick, and that Kipax had to sell his soul to get it, hence the reluctance to tell us why!

If it came from a reputable shop, contact them and ask if they can pass on a letter/e-mail. Pretty sure that they should have some sort of record of the previous owner (or at least the seller!) and they may well pass on the communication. Don't think they'll be allowed to give you the address though - data protection.

I think KIPAX has ran some recovery software on a card in there and now wants to meet one of the saucy models!

It seemed such a simple question at the time.. I buy a camera from a shop.. I ask on here if anyone called NICK sold a 1dmkIII because the filenames are NICK ..I didnt think for one moment the shop would give me previous owners details.. sorry for not thinking about that.

None of these responses came in my inbox so i thought the thread had died hence my lack of response..

Jeeze people.. does everyhting have to be a drama ?: )

lucky you didn't post about wording a ban on parents from using professional cameras to photograph an event you've been employed to take pictures at...

I wouldnt dare with this lot :)

Hum mine must have been owned by someone with the initial IMG as every image is labelled that way:D

Maybe he had NICKon envy, and it was the closest his Canon was going to get.
His name is probably Janet or something.

Just as well the guy didn't call himself Sparticus. You'd have really had a problem then. ;)
